El uso de energía solar para la recarga de dispositivos electrónicos en casa o el exterior no está muy al día. Apenas algunos teclados o cargadores portátiles sin mucha eficiencia se atreven con ello. El árbol solar creado por los finlandeses de VTT podrían cambiar esta tendencia.

Cada nuevo dispositivo que se lanza al mercado tiene una nueva tecnología de pantalla, un sonido más potente que no pierde nitidez, incluso la nueva tendencia a incorporar detectores de huellas dactilares. Pero.. ¿Y las baterías?, ¿es que nadie piensa en las baterías? Sin batería, nuestro smartphone sería un ladrillo tecnológico inservible.

Parece que James Cameron no estaba tan loco con su idea de Skynet y las máquinas que pensaban por sí solas, solo que en lugar de Skynet, la empresa se llama Google y todavía no ha llegado el día en que los robots han logrado tal autonomía, ni mucho menos rebelarse a sus creadores (ni que lo hagan).

“El iPhone”, comenta Kucherena en una entrevista, “contiene un software especial que puede activarse por sí mismo sin que el poseedor tenga que presionar ningún botón, y recolectar información sobre él; es por ello que, en base a la seguridad, él [Snowden] se niega a usar este teléfono”.

Según Apple, el iOS 8 es un dispositivo impenetrable para las agencias de seguridad, ofreciendo la privacidad de la información personal como un agregado más a los servicios del teléfono. Al igual que Facebook y Google, Apple es una compañía activa en las reformas a las leyes que permiten que los gobiernos echen una ojeada a la información personal. ¿Pero qué pasa con el reciente escándalo del #Fappenin, cuando cientos de fotos privadas de celebridades fueron filtradas, presuntamente, tras abrir una brecha en la Nube de Apple?

Datos filtrados de la NSA han mostrado que la agencia de seguridad británica GCHQ utilizó los identificadores personales de los iPhone (UDID) para rastrear usuarios. Se espera que próximos documentos muestren que utilizar iPhone es como publicar tu información personal en Facebook…

Hubo una vez un mundo en que las computadoras eran novedosas e incluso un tanto enigmáticas. Hubo una vez en que niños y adultos por igual se sorprendieron con la irrupción de máquinas en las que se podía escribir, dibujar, hacer operaciones matemáticas, jugar e incluso incursionar en la programación por cuenta propia. Ese tiempo fue la década de los 90, cuando las computadoras comenzaron a incorporarse paulatinamente en la vida cotidiana. Curiosamente, aun siendo criaturas todavía poco comunes, no demoró demasiado su aparición en el cine y otras representaciones audiovisuales de la realidad.
